What the Heck Am I Doing?

  1. Such encouraging truth. I completely relate to being in this state of life when you feel like you should be changing the world but you’re only changing over laundry. But it’s so good to know we aren’t defined by the world’s version of “success.”
Thanks for sharing, and keep writing! God gave you a gift to encourage others 🙂

    1. Thank you, Lydia! One of God’s biggest blessings is giving the gift of others in life to share experiences, truth, etc. I’m thankful to not be alone in this! 🙂

  4. Love this post. Love the truth in it and the cultural references. It’s hilarious how similar our stories are coming out of college. This is exactly how I felt back then. Maybe it’s also the expectations we place on ourselves and others post graduation? It’s never realistic.

    1. Thanks, Liz! Its such a comfort to know I’m not the only one 😊 Expectations seem to be my age-old struggle, but I think it’s a cultural conversation worth having too!

  5. Sounds like you have it pretty all together. It has taken me over seventy years to learn some of the things you already know. You are doing what the Lord’s will is for your life. You never have to apologize for that. I know you have some wonderful parents and it looks like they have done a wonderful job raising you. Mary Anne Medykowski

  6. Katie, thanks for your post. I think this is a word many Christian young adults need to hear. Also, you made the comment, “we are setting that trail ablaze with the entitlement we often feel because of that very trail. We feel entitled to success, to “making a difference,” to a big Instagram following, to going and doing.” You say, as well, ambition and dreams are not wrong inherently. I agree. It comes down to the understanding we are stewards and have been entrusted with what God has given us. We are not to be entitled. I see these two mindsets, entrusted vs. entitled, playing a big part in how we live our lives. My hope is to write and publish a book on this very topic. Nevertheless, thanks for spurring my thinking!
